Stocks closed lower on Wednesday after minutes from the most recent Federal Open Market Committee kept things ambiguous, though a September increase was not ruled out.'' -- Apparently this "stronger economic data" isn't supporting the belief enough to boost stocks... everyone knows that it's the fragility of the global financial economy that is really binding the Fed's hands... UPDATE: And here is ZeroHedge counter-spinning with the point that this sales figure was boosted by lots of cash sales in the South.
