Last month, employees at the Wayne County Treasurer's Office began notifying 62,000 property owners in Detroit that the county plans to auction off the property in the fall 2015 if owners don't pay their unpaid tax bills or agree to payment plans. In Detroit alone, the county hopes to collect on $326.4 million in taxes.
