A day after European Commission chief Manuel Barroso said the "existential threat to the euro has essentially been overcome", we have the monthly jobless data from Eurostat.
Unemployment has reached a record 26.6pc in Spain, rising to 56.5pc for youth... It is a record 11.8pc for EMU as a whole. ... Mr Barroso may be right that the euro will not implode in 2013.
