If you only look at the stock market, you realize we are only a few hundred points from all time highs. Why aren't people in the streets dancing for joy? First, 46,000,000+ Americans are on food stamps. 1 out of 3 have zero in savings. For the majority of people they see weak employment growth and the cost of daily goods rising while prospects for retiring seem more distant altogether. In other words, the American Dream is turning into the middle class dysphoria that is being reflected in poll after poll.
