Water supplier's benefits won't rise

" A proposal to increase employee pension benefits at the region's main water supplier — at a time when water-rate hikes are hitting recession-weary customers — was withdrawn yesterday. The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, which serves 19 million residents in six counties, was to consider the benefits boost at a meeting in Los Angeles today."
