``Investors are returning to energy and commodity funds after withdrawing record amounts last year during the credit crunch. Assets managed by commodity hedge funds increased 8.9 percent in the second quarter to almost $11 billion, according to Chicago- based Hedge Fund Research Inc. The S&P GSCI index of 24 raw materials has advanced 35 percent this year following its biggest drop last year. ''
