Russia, the world's biggest country, says a whole swathe of the Arctic seabed should belong to it because the area is really an extension of the Siberian continental shelf.
This is not so frivolous as it might seem. Russia actually has due process under international treaty to petition for extension of its offshore economic zone based on continental shelf geometry.
