GLG Partners Inc. hired former Morgan Stanley bankers Bart Turtelboom and Karim Abdel-Motaal to help replace Greg Coffey, the London-based firm's top hedge-fund manager. Turtelboom and Abdel-Motaal will join GLG in October and will become co-heads of GLG's Emerging Markets Fund and two other pools, the firm said in a statement today. The pair formerly oversaw emerging markets in Morgan Stanley's fixed-income division. The hirings follow last week's recruitment of Driss Ben- Brahim from Goldman Sachs Group Inc., where he was a London- based managing director in proprietary trading. GLG has been working to stem redemptions and stabilize its money-management ranks since April, when the 37-year-old Coffey left to start his own firm. Three guys to replace one guy! Coffey must have been THE MAN.
