WSJ-- May sales of cars and light trucks fell to 1,396,965, Autodata reported. The seasonally adjusted annualized sales pace for May, typically a strong month, was about 14.3 million vehicles, the lowest level since 1994, Autodata said.

The move to cars is “breathtaking,” Jim Farley, Ford’s group vice president of marketing, said in a conference call. “I would say [it’s] the most dramatic shift in customer segmentation potentially in two or three decades.
