This piece (from 11/16) is to be congratulated for calling out Ameriquest's Arnall for his role in the mess. And they don't miss the punchline:
" Arnall gave millions to pro-Bush organizations... he is now the United States Ambassador to Holland".
Another striking quote from the piece:
"As Washington considers how to respond to this crisis, consumer groups worry that the industry's big money influence will block any meaningful change. Both Republicans and Democrats depend heavily on banks and investment firms for their campaign money."
Explains a lot, doesn't it?
