"Barclays took a beating on Friday - triggered by a string of rumours across the sector. The bank’s share price tumbled in early morning trade - off 7 per cent at one point. Even after a wider equity market bounce (following better than expected US payrolls) Barclays remained in the dumps - off 5 per cent at lunchtime in London."
