down to 57 ... who would have thought even just a month ago that a VIX reading of 57 would feel like low volatility ...

VIX exploded today: 63.68 up +9.12 +16.72% .

Interesting SP 500 chart and VIX may be hinting at crash time.

Will the rise in the VIX have to correspond with another major sell off? I heard on CNBC that a lower VIX is a bearish indicator, I don't understand.
