What did YOU get for Christmas?
PostPosted: Thu Dec 27, 2007 5:51 am Reply with quoteBack to top

I didn't ask for anything, but I got the best stuff:

1) Grandson opening presents not once, twice, but 3 times here and there on movie cam (priceless) - he tossed the clothes and went for the next box so fast... it was too funny! Opened one of my gifts by mistake, and handed it to me.. "This has to be yours, Grandma" - it was a 2-DVD set about Iwo Jima. (4 1/2 - smart kid)

2) Teenage sons opening gift of first cell phones and subsequent razzing (from other older siblings) when they realized they had to get a job to pay for them - blew 1/2 their pre-paid minutes before lunch until they realized it.

3) Nirvana's NY Live Unplugged Concert DVD ... AND... Stevie Ray Vaughn video collections. (My sister gets the best sh**).

4) An email from a certain person that "I got the job!" - oops, still waiting on that. Wink *HINT*

What did everyone else get?

The gift the kids liked best was Buzz Jr. Jungle Party for PS2. The game comes with 4 buzz controls and is an absolute blast. Aside from DDR and SingStar, this is the best game for the PS2 and allows up to 4 kids (people) to play at a time.

However, the best toy went to the adults this year: RockBand Special Edition for Xbox 360. This is the ultimate addictive party game that comes with a faux Fender Guitar controller, Set of drums, and a microphone for vocals. We were up until midnight taking turns on guitar, drums, and vocals. We found the cheat code to open up all the songs, and it was a total blast. Best $175 I ever spent.

Good Christmas once we got family to leave and opened the Crown Laughing

1. Guitar Hero III (for our Wii)-I'm over 55 & still got the beat!
2. 1,000 piece puzzle-Completed (mortgage underwriting has its benefits)
& The fast version of Monoply-in memory of the Fast & Easy program

We decided on no personal gifts this year as we are tearing out the master suite down to the studs and having it completely re-done. It will be a Spa Retreat-type of suite - like a luxury hotel room inside the house. This will be our Christmas, Birthday, Anniversary, and Easter gift to each other for the next 10 years or so! Smile

But, I was surprised with a trip to Vegas in February! Seeing Bette Midler's debut while we are there (she's taking over Celine Dion's show).

Ugh, a friend of mine canned spaghetti sauce and brought us over a nice spaghetti dinner. We watched the movie Superbad afterwards. Home cooked meals make the best gifts.

NoMoreJob, is Guitar Hero as addicting as Rockband? Rockband has drums and vocals and bass. Up to 4 people can play at once. We were out there again last night. It really is like a band experience.

Anyway, I wish everyone here a happy, and peaceful New Year.
