Las Vegas - Black Swan Event for KB
PostPosted: Sat Mar 12, 2011 10:41 pm Reply with quoteBack to top

I look at the strategies of the publics - KB has lost $500M on one deal in Vegas. That's just one deal - repeat - one single deal.....nice Very Happy

Almost 2/3 of every mortgage in Nevada is under water - no es bueno para kb casa.... Crying or Very sad

This chart is amazing....

Who would you pick in a horse race?

A builder w/ 240 A+ locations in Texas like Horton, or a builder like KB (Kyle Davison = 0 sold Martha Stewart Halfway Houses in Katy)... that bet the family jewels on Vegas Laughing

Nice job Jeff Mezger and your idiotic mgnt team led by Kyle Davison "look at me"!!!!!!!!!!!

I am confused, is anyone else confused???? Embarassed

remember - Ivy Z reads this blog......

Went and looked at several communities yesterday. 3 were KB's. 2 of them were not staffed, the third was staffed by a temp -

Found that strange this time of year - looks like they are trying to sell homes without sales counselors.

Earnings are awful - they only have 1700 homes in backlog - for the entire country - KB is a tiny little company

they should do what Beazer is doing - buy their homes after foreclosure for $.35 on the $1 and rent them out!!!

I read their earnings call transcript. They bragged about their energy efficient homes - if their homes are so popular, then why is their backlog down 30% Embarassed

They mentioned that their Houston and DFW business is soft - guess that what happens when you build slums in D locations. They don't have one single community in Collin County (McKinney, Frisco, Allen or Plano)

Hey KyleDavison22, ...uhh, I mean..uhh...Catch 22......

Why on earth would I want to build houses in this economy - i would much rather short nitwit companies like KB Homes -

any company dumb enough to keep the same mngmnt team that couldn't sell their Martha Stewart homes in Katy and lost $500M on one deal in Vegas is just ripe for shorting opportunities... Laughing

so kb builds 1700 homes in 400 communities and lose $100M - big whoppee!!!!

i am buying stocks of homebuilders that are thinking outside the box (lennar bying cheap notes, beazer renting out homes)
